The Arrillaga Family Gymnastics Center will be closed the week of Oct. 26 for the installation of new solar panels. All classes will be suspended Oct. 26-30, 2015, and staff are busy notifying participants and refunding fees for the missed classes. This is all part of a large project to install solar on roofs at city facilities, including the Onetta Harris Center, Arrillaga Family Gymnasium and the public works corporation yard. A new solar carport was already constructed in the parking lot immediately south of City Hall. This project is made possible by Menlo Park’s participation in a Regional Renewable Energy Procurement effort allowing the 19 participating public agencies to benefit from joint procurement and negotiation efforts to reduce the cost of solar power installation.
