The original item was published from October 2, 2015 10:51 am to October 3, 2015 10:03 am

On Thursday, Sept. 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Onetta Harris Community Center hosted a community open house. This is the first time this event has taken place at the community center. The purpose of this event is to showcase the many programs and services available to residents and also introduce a variety of agencies that provide additional services in the Belle Haven community. There were 20 agencies that participated including the Boys and Girls Club, Job Train, Menlo Spark, San Mateo Credit Union, City of Menlo Park programs and many more. CSR Reality donated $200 to put toward fitness equipment for classes and Diane Baily of the Menlo Spark agency donated $300 to put toward the event in general. The overall feedback was very positive from the participating agencies and from the over 100 residents who attended. This event would not be possible, without the collaboration between the community and the City.
