[ARCHIVED] Innovative training for Parks maintenance staff held at Avaya Stadium

Last week, City staff responsible for sports field maintenance, was invited to Avaya Stadium for a day of instruction in turf management. The San Jose Earthquakes hosted the regional meeting of the Sports Turf Managers Association, providing an opportunity for Parks staff to experience the turf and irrigation system installed at the new soccer stadium. Along with sports field managers from across the state, staff learned the latest techniques in turf maintenance. This unique training enhanced staff’s ability to provide quality, safe sports fields for the community.
