The library issued a Request for Proposals this week for Library Strategic Planning. With the approach of the library’s centennial year in 2016, the timing is excellent for launching the process of envisioning and defining the future for public library services in Menlo Park. The library is seeking a qualified firm that will conduct and facilitate a comprehensive strategic planning process. This process will prioritize goals, measurable objectives and activities that will meet community needs for the next five years.

Development of a new strategic plan was one of the recommendations of the library's Operational and Administrative Review completed in late 2014. Funding for the strategic planning process was approved by the City Council in the fiscal year 2015-16 budgeting process.
