On Saturday evening, March 28, Facebook was granted temporary occupancy of its new west campus building. While a few areas of the building remain under construction, the vast majority of the space is now available for use. Facebook began moving the first 2,000 employees into the building this past week. The project construction began August 2013 with issuance of the building permits. During the project, Development Services Technician Mary Jane Salinas processed over 243 project revisions, with half of those also requiring review by the planning division. Senior Inspector Scott McBirney spent over 725 hours conducting 1,950 inspections, including the final inspection on Saturday evening that allowed for the temporary occupancy. The community development staff’s dedication ensured continuous progress through the life of the project and enabled us to meet the established timelines.
