On Saturday, April 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., a
native planting and water quality monitoring workshop is planned at 1 Alma Street, Menlo Park. Hosted by the city, Acterra and the Watershed Stewards Program (AmeriCorps), this will be the city of Menlo Park’s first rain garden, and will demonstrate how stormwater capture can be used to recharge local aquifers and provide habitat for native wildlife. The World Water Monitoring Challenge provides volunteers a chance to perform water quality tests and monitor the health of San Francisquito Creek. These results will be shared with other participating communities through the challenge. For more information and to volunteer, visit the
event page.
