This week, all kinds of celebrations were held in honor of Valentine’s Day. This week’s curriculum themes focused on caring and sharing and “What Makes a Good Friend” was discussed by the children in the after school program. The week ended with several Valentine parties. Each child brought in Valentine cards (some that were made at home) and shared them with each child in the classroom. The children decorated gift bags, played with red colored play-doh, and made heart shaped rice krispies treats and red heart popcorn. The children listened to Valentine stories and had fun mixing colors together to make pastels.
