Police focus on vehicle code violations that impact safety, congestion

Posted on January 13, 2020 at 11:11 pm by Clay Curtin

Over the past several years, traffic has dramatically increased in Menlo Park and the entire region. To address some of the negative impacts caused by this increase, the City's Traffic Unit is launching an educational campaign focused on vehicle code violations that have the greatest impact on safety and congestion. Over a two-week educational period, officers will stop violators but issue warnings and distribute education material, followed by strict enforcement of any violation.

The first statute officers will focus on is California Vehicle Code section 22526, better known as the Anti-Gridlock Act. Drivers can learn more about the Anti-Gridlock Act on the city website.
