Join the
Police at the second of three
Friday Night Reads events planned to coincide with the City’s
Menlo Movie Series. The readings will take place before the movie Friday, August 30, 2019, from 6:30–7:45 p.m. at the outside, west entrance of Burgess Pool, 501 Laurel St. Children and families are invited to meet their neighborhood police officers, eat pizza and get an autographed book of some of the officer's favorite stories. Books are geared for ages 2–14 years.
Pizza and refreshments will be provided, and children can listen to officers read excerpts from selected books. Each child gets to select a book to take home, and have it signed by the officers. Library staff will also be on hand to provide information about our local
Menlo Park libraries.
Immediately following the Friday Night Reads event, the Menlo Movie Series kicks off with the animated film, Finding Dory. The movie starts at 8 p.m. and will take place at the
Burgess Pool. Families are welcome to bring snacks and a blanket or chair to sit down and enjoy the movie with their neighbors.
