Train-going commuters and Menlo Park residents now have a new upscale option for their coffee needs.
Saint Frank, a coffee shop with locations in San Francisco and at the Facebook campus, opened for business Monday, August 19, at 1018 Alma St. The operating hours for the kiosk are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to at least 1 p.m. on weekends.
The kiosk opened directly across from the Menlo Park Caltrain station and close to the Civic Center as a part of a publicly-accessible plaza at the
Schmidt Family Foundation office building at 1010 Alma St. The kiosk and plaza were
approved by the Planning Commission in 2015 as a public benefit in conjunction with the new office building.
Kevin Bohlin established Saint Frank in 2013 with their first location in the Russian Hill area of San Francisco. Following the initial opening, the coffee purveyor quickly expanded with a SOMA location that serves as their roastery and a kiosk within Facebook’s MPK 20 building. The café specializes in seeking out and serving the highest quality beans from around the world while treating the farmers that grow them with respect and fairness. The high-end coffee crafted by Saint Frank’s employees has garnered excellent reviews, and the new location near the Caltrain station will serve to increase the number of options available to caffeine-seekers coming to Menlo Park by train. The quality and location of this new business combine to create a very exciting new addition to the Menlo Park coffee scene.
