Print magazines are still alive and well at the library

Posted on January 31, 2015 at 11:47 pm by Clay Curtin

Though we've all heard that everything is going digital, print magazines have retained their popularity. Our library has subscriptions to more than 250 print magazines with the entire collection being reassessed annually, resulting in some subscriptions being dropped and new ones acquired. Starting in 2015, 10 new subscriptions were added for adults and seven new ones for children. Most of the new magazines were chosen based upon patron requests.

New adult selections include:
• Details and GQ – both covering men’s fashion and lifestyle
• Silicon Valley Global – Irish Technology Leadership (suggested in honor of our city’s new friendship agreement with Galway City Ireland)
• Yes – urban ecology, economic alternatives, and peace options

New kid titles include:
• Click – science and nature for kids age 3-7
• Dig Into History – archeology and history for middle school age kids
• Odyssey – science for middle school age kids
