Time is running out to plan for this year’s
2019 National Night Out event! This year’s event is Tuesday, August 6, 2019, from 6–9 p.m. Each year the Menlo Park neighbors organize their own local neighborhood and community events to celebrate. This is a nationwide community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and crime prevention. It enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.
National Night Out is an opportunity to enjoy an evening of socializing, meeting and greeting your neighbors, police and City staff. This year will be similar to the last seven years, where several neighborhoods will be hosting outdoor gatherings with block parties throughout Menlo Park. It is a great way to get out in the community, get to know your neighbors, increase crime prevention while enjoying a summer evening surrounded by friends and family.
The City will waive the fee for a street closure if you host a neighborhood event. There are also many great giveaways for block parties that register early with the Police Department.
For more information or to host a block party, contact
Community Services Officer Deanna Haley. You can
register your block party online on the city’s website.
