The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) has asked water agencies, including the
Menlo Park Municipal Water District (MPMWD), to continue 10% voluntary water use reductions. Even with the recent rains, our area is still experiencing an extreme drought and we need snow and rain in January and February to secure our water supply. In late spring, the SFPUC will determine if the 10% voluntary reduction is sufficient, and whether it will continue.
In 2014, between January and November, MPMWD water customers used 12% less water than the same period in 2013.
