Do you ever wonder what happens at Menlo Park Gymnastics? In addition to preschool classes and level classes, we also have a competitive girls’ team and boys’ team. Our teams compete in local competitions and our athletes are very talented!
Just recently, Noah Kim competed at the Level 9 Gymnastics Regional Championships in Chandler, Arizona on April 6. Noah placed second on Rings and sixth All Around in his age group. Noah has been at Menlo Park Gymnastics for 12 years—he started with us when he was just 3 years old!
Sophia Simon competed at the Level 8 Gymnastics Regional Championships in Reno, Nevada on April 15. She placed first on All Around in her age group and first on Bars and fourth on Floor Exercise. Sophia has been at Menlo Park Gymnastics for 11 years—she started with us when she was just 4 years old!
In order to qualify to regionals, gymnasts must first compete at the State Championships, and must meet strict requirements in order to pass to the Regional Championships. Competing at the State and Regional Championships is quite an achievement for the athletes as well as their coaches. Noah is coached by Cameron Matzke, Nathan Westfield and Sho Nakamori. Sophia is coached by Savina Krakowski and Nicole Lepe.
