MPPD is proud to serve and protect the residents of the City of Menlo Park.

Our Mission:

The Menlo Park Police Department exists to protect life and property by minimizing the effects of criminal and traffic activities. We respond to the changing needs of our dynamic community by implementing and sustaining compassionate, creative, and comprehensive law enforcement programs which focus on prevention, as well as apprehension.

We value employees as individuals and appreciate their positive contributions to the organization and our City. We encourage and develop them to be well trained and dedicated to a strong work ethic and the highest standards of accountability.

New Service:

Red Light Photo Enforcement Program :

On November 28, 2006, the Menlo Park City Council authorized implementation of a Red Light Photo Enforcement Program as part of a comprehensive program of traffic safety measures. The first camera system will be installed in Spring 2008 at the intersection of Bayfront Expressway at Willow Road. The purpose of the Red Light Photo Enforcement Program is to increase voluntary compliance of motorists stopping for red lights and to reduce traffic collisions caused by unsafe driver behavior. The system offers 24-hour enforcement at designated intersections while increasing public awareness of the dangers and punitive expense associated with failing to stop for traffic signals. for more information please click here
