Project Description:

The goal of this plan is to prepare a Safe Routes to School plan for children and their families to commute to Oak Knoll School.

History:

Previously, two Safe Routes to Oak Knoll School Plans were prepared and implemented in 1997 and 2002.  Since the completion and implementation of the study’s findings, school enrollment has increased, school boundaries have changed, and portions of the school, the parking lot, and the drop-off and pick-up areas have been reconfigured.  A major renovation was completed in 2010 that added more classrooms and a gymnasium.

The purpose of the current project is to update the previous Safe Routes to Oak Knoll School plans with additional recommendations based on changes between 2002 and today.

Current Status:

The second Neighborhood meeting will be held the week of January 21, 2013 location TBD.

Past Activity:

The first Neighborhood meeting will be held November 7th, at 7:00 pm in the Oak Knoll Elementary Gymnasium.

The first steering committee for the Oak Knoll Safe Routes to School plan was held on October 15th.
