Caltrain Bike/Pedestrian Undercrossing Study and Conceptual Design

There is currently no way to cross the Caltrain tracks between Ravenswood Avenue and San Francisquito Creek. This project will examine several sites within these limits for determining the best location for a bike/pedestrian undercrossing and a connecting access easement from/to El Camino Real. A conceptual design will also be developed.

This project is included in the City's General Plan and has been approved as a City Council Project Priority for FY 2007-08.

Planned Activities
2008, Nov A community meeting will be held to consider a preferred conceptual plan.
2008, Dec The preferred location and conceptual design will be presented to the City Council.

Past Activities

The Commission voted to accept the location as presented by staff, namely the Middle Ave to Burgess Park alignment, for the bike/pedestrian tunnel. The motion passed with three votes yes, two votes no, and two abstentions.
