Recycling and Solid Waste

Waste reduction and recycling are a priority to the City of Menlo Park to reduce the volume of trash sent to local landfills, meet state mandates, and reduce the City's carbon footprint. Please do your part to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!

The City of Menlo Park is served by Recology of San Mateo County. Recology has an exclusive contract for residential and commercial garbage service. Recycling, organics and debris box services can be provided by any hauler abiding by City Code.

Recology provides curbside residential recycling and organics service free of charge. Free recycling is provided to commercial customers, and organics collection is available at a 50% reduction off of an equivalent size garbage container. Additional information about these services are included below along with how to address material not collected curbside (hazardous waste or reusable items).
