  Special Events and Concerts

More than providing residents with venues for fun, play and celebration, community events and concerts create opportunities for participants to become connected to their community. There are six major events held throughout the year along with eight Summer Concerts. For additional information on any of the events or concerts, please call 650.330.2200.

  • Black History Day
    As part of Black History Month in February, the City will host a celebration at the Onetta Harris Community Center on Thursday, February 23, 7 - 9 pm.

  • Egg Hunt
    This year the Bunny will visit Burgess Park on Saturday April 15th with toys and candy filled eggs for girls and boys ages 8 and under. The festivities start at 10 a.m. with bounce houses, crafts, and pictures with the Bunny. Activities are co-sponsored by the Menlo Park Fire District.

  • Kite Day
    Bring your own kite or buy a kite from us at the best place to fly a kite in Menlo Park - Bayfront Park. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to help you assemble and fly your kite. Sunday, April 22rd - 12 - 3 pm.

  • 4th of July Parade and Celebration
    This is the annual parade and celebration you have heard so much about. Decorate you bike, trike, wagon, golf cart, or float and parade with us down Santa Cruz Avenue from the parking lot off Santa Cruz and Chestnut Street to Burgess Park. The Parade starts promptly at 11:30 am on July 4th. Once at Burgess Park, you and your family will enjoy music, games, and food. Menlo Park is your small town oasis in the Bay Area!

  • Summer Concert Series
    Join us from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. the last Wednesday of June through mid August at Fremont Park to listen to some of the best local groups. The series features a variety of musical styles from Jazz to Country to hits of today and yesterday. Bring your picnic blanket and dinner, and of course there is always room up front for dancers of all ages.

  • Halloween Parade and Carnival
    The annual Halloween Parade and Carnival is held the Saturday before Halloween. Come in costume and participate in the annual parade from Burgess Park to Fremont Park. Participants will receive a trick or treat bag. After the parade, trick or treat your way back to Burgess Park through Downtown Menlo Park at participating stores. The Burgess Recreation Center will then open for a carnival for children ages 12 and under. Activities are co-sponsored by the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce.

  • Breakfast With Santa
    Join us the first Saturday in December for Breakfast With Santa. A delicious pancake breakfast is served from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Burgess Recreation Center. Don't forget to bring your camera so you can get a great photo of your child with Santa. Activities are co-sponsored by the Menlo Park Rotary Club and the Young Latino Leaders.
