Bay Area Wild

Tuesday, August 15, 2017

Join us for a Tuesday event for elementary schoolers, as Wildlife Associates introduces us to four of the special creatures under its care.

Join us outside the library, as docents from Wildlife Associates introduce us to some of the beautiful and fascinating wildlife living in the fields and forests surrounding our cities and suburbs.  We'll gain insights into the secret lives of these intelligent and ecologically important animals.

Animal ambassadors may include:
  • Gray Fox
  • Great Horned Owl
  • Opossum
  • Red-Tailed Hawk
This program is intended for elementary-school-aged children and their adults.

This event is made possible thanks to generous funding by the Friends of the Menlo Park Library.

About Wildlife Associates

Wildlife Associates brings kids face-to-face with the wild during a transformative, experiential learning program where the animals are the teachers.

Since 1980, Wildlife Associates has provided nationally-acclaimed educational programs for children, families, and adults throughout the Greater Bay Area. At their 120-acre wildlife sanctuary in Half Moon Bay, they care for more than 50 non-releasable animals that could not survive in the wild. These amazing animals take on the role of “Wild Teachers” in more than 800 educational presentations Wildlife Associates leads each year.
