Project background

The Jack Lyle Park restroom project is funded as part of the City Council-approved capital improvement budget for fiscal year 2016-17, although it has been in the plan for a number of years.

This project has been in high demand particularly by two of our approved field user groups and soccer organizations – AYSO and the Alpine Strikers. The park is utilized extensively February to June and mid-August to mid-December on weekdays from 4 p.m. to dark and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. There are approximately 50 park users per day on weekdays and 400 per day on weekends.

During times of heavy usage, user groups have rented portable toilet facilities to accommodate children and their families. These have been available only to the user groups and are not accessible to other park users.
