Belle Haven Community Visioning

Belle Haven Visioning.

On September 18, 2012, the Menlo Park City Council approved the proposed Belle Haven Community Visioning Process and authorized the City Manager to select a consultant based on responses to Request for Proposal (RFP) and execute a contract. As part of the RFP process, staff received resident input on the proposal and on the selection of a consultant who was the best qualified to implement an inclusive and dynamic community visioning and capacity building process for the neighborhood. In December, a committee formed of City staff and Belle Haven residents selected MIG, Inc. as the process consultant and in January the consultant was hired and introduced to the Belle Haven residents at the Visioning Process Kick-off meeting. Emergency Notification

Sign In Here - Menlo Park Emergency Notification System Opt-In Weblink

The City of Menlo Park has launched a new Emergency Notification system which can be used by City staff to send personalized voice and data messages to residents and businesses within Menlo Park. The system has the capability of sending thousands of messages in minutes using a single announcement.

Examples of when the system may be used are:

  • Natural Disasters
  • Flooding
  • Safety Alerts
  • Water Main Breaks
  • Road Closures
The City Of Menlo Park contracts with Blackboard Connect, utilizing their emergency notification product. The system can be activated by City personnel from any computer with Internet access, or by telephone.

Primary residential and business telephone numbers are automatically included in the system, utilizing various public databases. However, residents and businesses can utilize the “City Resident or Business Opt-In” weblink above to insure that their telephone number is accurate and/or updated. In addition, residents can add cell phone numbers and email addresses. For residents, the system has the ability to store up to three telephone numbers and two email addresses.

For residents who do not have access to a computer they can visit either of the Menlo Park libraries and access dedicated library computers, which will take them to the City of Menlo Park's website. One library is located at 800 Alma Street in the Menlo Park Civic Center, and one is located at 413 Ivy Drive in Menlo Park. Or, they can call Carolina Gaskin at the Menlo Park Police Department at 650-330-6327 to register. Please leave a message with your name and a call back number.

Residents or businesses with call blocking service can make certain they receive notifications by adding 650-330-6396 to their approved number list.

Blackboard Connect does not sell, lease, share, or rent personal identification information (names, addresses, phone numbers, etc.) to any companies or persons outside of Blackboard Connect. The information will be accessed by the City of Menlo Park only for purposes of community alerts or notifications.

Activity Guide

Activity Guide

Menlo Park loves parks and recreation! And the City's bi-annual survey proves it. The City's survey compares or "benchmarks" us against 500 other communities across the country.

Respondents rated the quality of City parks, recreation programs or classes and recreation facilities all much above the benchmark. We think these statistics say a lot about the quality of life in Menlo Park and we think you'll find this guide full of examples of why residents love living in Menlo Park.
